Signing in

Go to your portal’s sign-in page, enter your email address and password, and you land on the dashboard. If two-factor authentication is on, you are asked for a six-digit code from your authenticator app straight afterwards.

Your browser stays signed in while you keep using it. The key it holds expires within the hour and is renewed quietly in the background, which means a session copied off a machine stops working on its own rather than lasting indefinitely.

The first time a client signs in

A client does not choose to join Pertavo — they follow your invitation. What they see is:

1. The invitation email, with a link that works once and expires within a day.
2. A short form: their name and a password of their choosing. Their email address is already filled in and cannot be changed, because the invitation was issued to that address.
3. The dashboard, showing whatever you have already assigned to them.

An expired or already-used link is refused, even if somebody finds it in a forwarded email later. If that happens, send a fresh invitation — it takes a moment and is safer than any workaround.

Make the first visit worth something

A client who signs in to an empty portal often does not come back. Before you send the invitation, assign them at least one thing: a document to read, a request for the papers you need, or a short message. Then the portal has a point on the very first visit.

If you cannot get in

• Wrong password — use Forgot password on the sign-in page. The reset link goes to your registered address.
• The code is refused — your phone’s clock is probably out of step. See Two-factor authentication.
• The invitation link does not work — it has been used or has expired. Ask the firm to send a new one.
