Browsers, devices and requirements
What the portal runs in, what it needs turned on, and what to tell a client who is struggling on a phone.

Browsers
Any current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. “Current” is doing real work in that sentence — the portal is built against browsers from the last couple of years, and a machine that has not been updated since is the most common source of a problem nobody else can reproduce.
Internet Explorer is not supported.
What has to be on
- JavaScript. The portal is an application, not a set of pages, and will not load without it.
- Local storage and cookies for the portal’s address. These hold your session. A browser blocking them signs you out repeatedly.
If a strict privacy extension is installed, add the portal to its exceptions rather than trying to work around it.
Phones and tablets
The portal works on a phone: signing in, reading documents, messages and notifications, and signing a signature request — drawing a signature with a finger is genuinely better on a phone than on a laptop.
Two things are much better on a larger screen: the PDF editor, and anything involving the document list with several filters set. Tell clients they can sign on their phone and do everything else more comfortably on a computer.
Uploading from a phone
Photographs taken on an iPhone are often HEIC, which is not an accepted type by default. In the phone’s camera settings, choose the “Most Compatible” format, and the photographs become JPGs that upload without conversion.
Connection
Nothing exotic is required, but large uploads over a weak mobile connection fail more often than they succeed. Anything over about 20 MB is worth doing on a proper network. See When an upload will not go through.
Zoom and text size
The layout reflows rather than clipping, so the browser’s own zoom is the right tool if the text is small. The theme setting is a preference, not an accessibility control — see Appearance and theme.
